More Info

In January 2018 Rod was diagnosed with CLL cancer. Within a month of beginning treatment he developed a blocked colon and it was discovered he had another more rare and aggressive form of cancer Large Cell Anaplastic Lymphoma.  Rod spend 5 months in and out of the hospital, after a colon resection, then complications ensued with his condition worsening not allowing the new chemotherapy regiment to begin. Finally in a last ditch effort the new chemotherapy treatment was started but then he developed pneumonia and had a breathing crisis and was moved to ICU and was in an induced coma  on a breathing tube for several days.  All the way along, Kim reached out to friends and family and someone dubbed the support group Team Rod.  Everyone was dedicated to Rod's recovery and loving supportive prayers and emails were so important. After being given 2 hours to live off the breathing tube - with his wife Kim and three friends in attendance.  Rod kept breathing... and after two hours he opened his eyes and said to Kim and the teary eyed friends, "You are all so amazing".  His second comment was "I'd kill for a cup of coffee".

Rod came back from this huge challenge, as he continued chemotherapy, he went to rehab and learned to walk again after his debilitating hospital stay, and returned to his beautiful home and went into remission in September.Alas it was not to last long, as in October Rod began to have sudden memory problems.  The cancer was back this time in his brain, and later it was discovered, in his body as well.  Now we are in cancer treatment again.

We truly believe that Rod will go into remission again, and we appreciate all you can do to help us get there!

Update #5

I'm writing to thank all of you for your wonderful support, prayers, and energies...

It is working!

My Pet scan test shows NO cancer!

This gives us great hope, now, that we will be able to keep a watchful eye on the future, maintain what we have all achieved, and keep it all at bay!

Dr. Jain will be forming a maintenance plan to do that...and in the meantime, I will be healing the lingering side effects, and regaining most of my normal life, now...

I think we might already be heading into Spring and Summer...( Really! It feels that way!)...So it feels like new beginnings...to be taken advantage of with love and joy!

I wish all of the best of this life, for each of you...as I have been given…so much because of all of you!

I thank you,....
Rod

Update #4

I wanted to send you an update on how well Rod is doing. We have discovered through our Team Rod email newsletters over the last year, that so much of Rod's miraculous journey has been in part because of people like you sending him healing energy and prayers. We feel this group consciousness is a huge circle of love and all of us benefit from the connection.

As of yesterday and today in the New Year Rod is doing surprisingly well and is now back at Harrison hospital for his 3rd round of chemotherapy. Amazingly he is feeling better and stronger than he has in weeks! He is still somewhat weak in his legs and core but feels better internally. So we trust that is a trend and that the miracles will continue...

Please visualize this vision of strength to continue and for the chemotherapy to once again work it's necessary job of eliminating cancer cells while Rod safely maintains his healthy cells, organs, and perfect body functions.

Thank you again for your financial contribution and support in helping us continue to have the resources we need to win this campaign!

With much gratitude

Kim and Rod

Update #3

We have a few more days to soak up the healing energies of our SkyeLandeSea farm and beautiful home before Rod goes back into the hospital on Monday for Round 3 of his chemotherapy. Thanks to your donations I have been setting up people to help with the horse feeding and cleaning so I can have more time and energy to devote to Rod's care in the hospital and at home, and we can begin paying off some of our medical bills. We have reached 70% of our goal in only 3 days! We are so touched at the generosity and heart that has allowed us to ask, and to receive, even more of your support.

Here is a photo of Rod last summer after recovering from his lengthy hospital stay - he became weakened due to heavy steroids and his brain surgery and subsequent treatment but this week he began feeling well enough to use his cane rather than the walker. We look forward to the day when he can enjoy his horse chores again!

Update #2

We have reached 25% of our fundraiser for Rod's medical expenses goal! Our hearts are so full, so many of you have reached out to support us, and with each donation we smile in surprise at the generosity of your gifts. We realize how many friends we have the world over, and through the magic of the internet - the ones of you who have reached out give us not only your generous donation, but your love and support as well.
Our gratitude overflows
Thank you and may your generosity be returned tenfold

Update #1

Rod and I are so deeply moved by the generosity of your donations towards his medical costs, in one night we are already exceeding 10% of our goal from friends and others we previously didn't know to call friend.... It is so empowering to ask for help, I were so reticent to do so, but you all have taught me that the love I've put out into the world - is so generously returned. Rod has given me and our animals all his love over the last 23years, he is my soulmate and we fully intend to continue to enjoy our love story for many years to come. Our experiences of his healing miracles have touched so many hearts already - I am so happy to include more of you in this incredibly difficult but beautiful journey of love and light.
