We know that the days immediately following an evacuation or a disaster are highly uncertain, stressful, and anxious days. We support children, families, and communities by providing day camps for  kids that are fun, immersive, and safe. While kids have a blast at camp, parents have the time and space to get back on their feet.

Over 175 million kids are impacted by natural disasters across the globe each year, and in California– where we launched camps during three of the largest fires in state history– fire season is growing longer and more destructive. The long term mental, emotional and physical health impacts of these adverse experiences will be felt for years to come, and disaster response infrastructure is not designed to help mitigate the side effects of trauma. Project:Camp actively works to safeguard children and help them through what could be the most difficult experience of their lives..

During fires that ravaged different parts of Northern California, Project:Camp team members jumped to serve impacted communities. This year, Project:Camp responded to fires in Lassen County, CA, Quincy, CA, and Reno, NV, serving families impacted by the Beckwourth Complex, Dixie and Caldor fires.

Over the next few weeks we will share stories, photos, and videos from our camps, including the experiences of our campers, parents, community partners, volunteers, and staff, to share with you the power and impact of Project:Camp. The funds you provide through this campaign will be integral to ensuring that Project:Camp is able to continue to pursue its mission of serving families impacted by disaster.

The goals of this campaign are to...

1) Grow our community - Double the number of one-time donors that are supporters of Project:Campm. Our goal is to hit 150 individual donors by the end of the year.

2) Raise the funds to do the work - Raise at least of $15,000 to support general operating funds  to ensure program excellence in the 2022 season.

3) Build lasting relationships  - Invite members of our community to become a part of the Project:Camp family through recurring donations. Recurring donations can be set up via our website, projectcamp.co.

We are excited to share more about what Project:Camp does, and hope that you will join us in our aim of helping families impacted by disaster!
