Hi everyone- *graphic image warning*
We can't even begin to thank all of you for your outpouring of love & support.
Tank made it to the specialist this morning. Despite his best efforts the damage to the bone was too severe to be salvageable. They removed from both bottom canines forward (see image) While this isn't the outcome we were hoping for, we've been told that this should have little affect on his quality of life and this was the best option for him. He is home with us now for the first time in 5 days and we are over the moon to have our fat boy back. We have a long road of recovery ahead of us but as of now we are at a stable place.
Tank would not be back home with us right now if not for the wonderful staff at Dr. Ben Colmery's office/Dixboro Veterinary Dental in Ann Arbor. Also, A huge thank you to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Southfield, MI for the initial response and keeping Tank stable while awaiting surgery...both times :(
