Moving country is never easy, leaving behind our loved ones creates an empty feeling and at the time our situation didn’t allow us to have pets. However, 2 years later the universe decided to help us out and on returning to the office from a vacation in Kona, Hawaii we were greeted to the meows of an abandoned fluffy grey kitten. We took her home, after making sure she belonged to no one else, named her Kona and she grew into a huge beautiful cat, more dog like than cat.

We decided after a while that she needed a friend and we went to Nuzzles & Co and found Desmond aka Yoda. He was a rescue from the Navajo Reservations. This little chap bought a whole bundle of energy, love and lightness to our home. Kona and Yoda are best friends. It's such an honor to have these “lost’ souls come into our lives and chose us as their parents. So many animals aren’t as lucky as ours.

Both Cobus and I are ultra runners and have entered Tahoe 200 mile foot race (a continuous non stop race) and we decided that there was no better opportunity than to use this 200 mile journey to raise funds for Nuzzels & Co and our furry four legged friends, that need help.

We start on Friday, June 17th at 9:00am (Pacific Time) and will be running for anything from 75 - 100 hours.

Our bib numbers are : Cobus #227 and Caitlin #226.

There is live tracking, which can be found on the website, please feel free to follow our jouney here

We would appreciate any donation, no matter how big or small.

Nuzzles & Co’s mission is to protect animals, to provide a loving and nurturing place where they can get healthy and learn positive behaviors, and then to find loving homes for each one of them. They also work to educate the community on the humane treatment of animals.
