Let’s all come together this holiday season to help make a young girl’s life a little brighter this holiday season. Melissa is a seven year girl who is in second grade at Virginia Road Elementary School. The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services recently reached out to Gensler and let us know that Melissa unfortunately recently lost her mother and is now in the custody of her young aunt. When asked what she wants for Christmas, she said to go to Disneyland so she could be happy and her Aunt maybe would not cry anymore.
As a SWOPs team, we’d love to make this happen! We have set-up an online campaign to raise funds to send Melissa and her aunt to Disneyland. We’d like to give them two tickets, a gift card to use at the park and possibly a hotel stay there for the night too! Anything we are able to fundraise above the Disneyland adventure will also go to Melissa and her aunt.
Thank you for considering making a donation! Giving is not required of all in SWOPs, but we would love to have you participate in any capacity that you are able to. Please give by December 13. We will be giving Melissa and her aunt the holiday gift at The Angel Tree party on December 14.
Thank you!! And happy holidays!
