The Switch it Up Break it Down program is a health and nutrition program partnered with a Harlem elementary school PS 153 and PS 192. Help us continue to promote healthy choices to the youth of the Harlem community!
Switch it Up Break it Down is a health and nutrition program where college students from the City College of New York serve as health educators who promote healthy lifestyle choices in a fun and interactive way. The main goals of this program are to educate children on the five food groups, emphasize the importance of making healthy choices and ultimately decrease the prevalence of childhood obesity. We are currently partnered with PS 153 and PS 192 and teach a total of six workshops from October to April that incorporate the five food groups using USDA’s MyPlate as a model. Over the last three years we have taught over 500 elementary school students!
We are currently seeking donations for T-Shirts, cooking supplies and fresh produce which are all essential components of our monthly workshops.
