Sweaters for Quien Es Tutorees this Winter

Today is a very special day because it's the last day of our tutoring program for families this fall, the 22nd tutoring session in all! Moreover, at $272/350 for our final fundraiser this season, the team is now more than 3/4ths of the way through. What I enjoy seeing the most is not the amount that folks donate, but the fact that folks take the time to show some support! Thank you again to everyone who has spread the word about our programs, our stories, our fundraisers, and more. Through more of these programs and others like them, our community will only grow stronger. I believe in it!

If you're just learning about our work, thank you for taking the time to get to know a little about us! A brief intro below:

Quien Es Tu Vecindario is a nonprofit organization that was certified as a charity by the state of CA this past June 2020. Before our certification, we were a loose coalition of organizers and young professionals in the LACC area who led two major annual "Back 2 School" parties for our community in 2018 and 2019, which together served more than 50 different parents, students, and other community members.

This year, after two years of holding arts and education programs for our community, particularly over summer, the stay at home orders put the breaks on our in-person programs. But rather than simply waiting out for a better time, or for when things "get back to normal," our organization rallied and designed an online tutoring program, free of charge for families this Fall.

Now, for our final week of tutoring, our goal is to surprise our students with some warm sweaters for winter. A final show of support for them to remember us by!
