When ovarian cancer is caught early (stage 1A & 1B), the survival rate is 95%. It drops to 45% when detected in later stages. We need to support, educate, and find a test for this disease.
Whisper Walk is an annual event held in Douglass Hills with a large number of people walking to support women battling gynecological cancers. The event was started in 2009 by Frank and Sean Edwards in memory of Dee Edwards. She was a beautiful young mom, a Science teacher at Crosby and she was very passionate about fundraising and being an advocate. Funds raised from the 11th Annual Whisper Walk will go to support OAK’s local support and awareness programs.
Create your Walk Team and start fundraising to support OAK's mission to provide support, networking and education for women who are diagnosed with gynecological cancers and their caregivers in order to improve outcomes.
All registered participants will recieve a Whisper Walk branded sweat towel! Anyone raising $100+ will recieve a Whisper Walk T-shirt.
