S.U.N. is a non-profit with the mission to end cycles of violence and abuse in the household by providing donation based group therapy and sustainable housing opportunities for families.
At S.U.N. we believe a vast majority of societal issues stem from violence in home life and from childhood. Statistics from CDC state- 1 in 3 women have been victims of domestic violence and 1 in 4 men have been victims. 50% of men and women have experienced emotional abuse. When violence from the past and present are not resolved, violent cycles continue, seeping into other aspects of societal life. Survivors United aims to provide immediate relief and space for healing, so we may create a better generation through healing ourselves now. S.U.N. holds close the notion that a polluted mind causes a polluted environment and that both, equally and critically, need immediate healing.
S.U.N. consists of a variety of trained, educated, and experienced professionals; social workers, program directors, producers, philanthropists, outdoor enthusiasts, and victims of domestic violence. Each individual contributing to this network has their own experiences of violence, growth, persistence, and triumph. The stories we share through our program are full of riveting terror, violence, heartbreak, and love. We hope to deeply connect with our supporters and create an everlasting community of love and support.
Donations will go directly toward expanding and developing the group therapy program, hiring trained mental health professionals to conduct therapy programs, and outreach and advertising.
