I’m fundraising for the nonprofit Animal Shelter called TLC. TLC receives shipments of 30 animals per week and they need supplies! I will be using the money donated to buy tangible items off of the TLC wish list to help.
Hello! My name is Helene Simmons and I am a senior at Lockport Township High School. My dream is to become a veterinarian in the future. As you all know, 2020 has been a tough year for everyone, me included. On the bright side, I had plenty of time to think about how I could bring light to my situation in quarantine. I realized I should use the time given to me to start a fundraiser for an animal shelter!
With this idea in mind, I spent my summer researching animal shelters. After choosing my favorites, I safely toured a few shelters in order to personally meet the care takers, see the animals’ living space, and observed treatment. In the end, I’ve decided to fundraise for TLC (Tender Loving Care) Animal Shelter a local animal shelter to Homer Glen. What I’ve learned about TLC is that they receive shipments of around thirty animals each week, most of which are on death row. Luckily, the dullness of quarantine has encouraged lots of families to adopt animals from this shelter. As more animals come and go at faster rates, more supplies are needed than normal. This is where I can help!
In starting this fundraiser, I hope to raise about $500 in order to help provide supplies to the TLC animal shelter. Upon achieving this monetary goal, I plan on going to pet stores and buying supplies that TLC has requested on their wish list from their website, https://www.tlcanimalshelter.org/, then I will personally gift the items to TLC. It would mean the world to me, and the pets especially, if you made any donation to this cause. Thank you for your time, I wish you good health and an amazing rest of your day
