Support the Anderson Family

From Muscat Friends

The Anderson family tragically lost 8 year old Joshi early Wednesday morning to a severe fever. George (6) is now in ICU with similar symptoms, and the family is away from community, traveling in India currently.

Update #3

Hi all,
Thank you again for your amazing support and genorosity.

Hazel is just about released from hospital after 2-3 days of intravenous and oral antibiotics. She says now it's just a matter of dealing with shock (for everyone), but the serious medical issues should be behind them.

For those in Cambridge and Muscat --

Joshi's celebration of life still on track for EASTER SATURDAY in Cambridge (no coffin , child friendly, tears and laughter welcome). Burial will be a separate service for close family and Godparents, ideally same day in the morning.

Please tentively save the date. It will be a wonderful reunion of friends and family far and wide.

Let's celebrate Joshi! He was pure Gold.

Stay tuned for the details of Joshi's Muscat Celebration of Life.

More Info

Any funds given would greatly help relieve the burden of medical bills, flights to the UK, burial costs and other expenses.  And of course, thank you for continued prayers.

Dear all , l just wanted you to know our Joshi has died in the night of a high fever..we are suspecting it may have been meningitis related. Adrian had a fever and so did George but they are recovering.

Obviously we are distraught. Please pray for us. We are currently on holiday in India.

It will take time to process this. We are thankful for his life. He nearly died at birth due to bad infection and he has always been weaker than the others.

He went into Severe convulsions at the local hospital and died in my arms. Adrian tried to resuscitate him when the doctor said there was no more hope.

I am so grateful to God for his life. I loved him so much. I am so glad for 8 wonderful years with him and two wonderful brothers who will miss him terribly.

Please pray for us at this time.

Update #3

Some updates from Hazel are attached. We've increased the Fundly goal to encourage for more donations (as many still are giving generously):

Hazel messaged:

"Just a note to the very kind folk organising donations for us. We will surely use it as we need to, costs can be expensive... but rest assured we will give what we can to charities Joshi would like, chosen by Joel and George.

Joshi loved animals and nature. His favourite colours were yellow and Gold. We will fly back to Cambridge as soon as we can for a private family burial followed by a celebration of his life; a memorial service open to all. We want a big party for him! We are thinking Easter Monday but will let you know as nothing is confirmed. Please please come if you can. And wear some yellow and Gold if you like.We will make this accessible to children and Adrian will probably organise games. They are sure to be as incredible as ever!

Update #2

For those who've not read already, we have a bit of good news from Hazel. Some plans are coming into place.

The good news is that both boys and Adrian are all stable, and a family member may be able to join their family soon. Plus George is looking 10x better than in the last photo, and Hazel's caption was "We will beat this." Such faith and strength.

Thank you all for your generous gifts to support flights, medical expenses and funeral costs -- we have increased the goal to 20K USD, because so much support will be needed throughout this time and in the months to come..

From Hazel:
"Just seen consultant. We will be in ICU for 5 days all being well. Really fun dose of pneumonia but all vital signs good. Then we hope to fly back to UK for funeral. We hope to be back in Muscat in a couple of weeks. Adrian and Joel having tests. Adrian has a milder chest infection. We hope to have a family member here to help take the strain soon."
