Greetings,
I wanted to reach out and let you know that I am raising money to support schools and clinic in Nebelet area, Tigray, Ethiopia. As you probably know, the Northern part of Ethiopia has been in a devastating war that claimed the lives of more than a million people, including children, and the destruction of property.
Even though the guns have been silenced, following the Pretoria Peace Agreement between the warring parties, the people still endure unimaginable suffering in the aftermath of the war. They have no clean water, proper shelters, and functioning healthcare centers. Food is scarce, because farmers missed consecutive farming seasons due to the then on-going war.
The local schools and health centers, among others, were purposely destroyed by invading Eritrean Soldiers. As a result, the schools don't have basic educational materials such as blackboard and stationery, and the clinic doesn't have even simple medical supplies such as gauze, bed-sheets and pain-killer medicines. As you can see in the attached image, a local teacher is desperately using a flat-stone, in the absence of a formal blackboard, to teach his students.
I hope you will be able to participate in this fundraising effort and find it a worthwhile charitable contribution to support the kids to attend school and patients to receive the necessary and basic healthcare. As the Scripture says, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35). Any amount of donation you can give would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support, and I would appreciate if you could also share the fundraising link with your friends.
