From Cris Eggers

JP is a 20 year-old person from Peru. Assaulted for being gay, JP was hospitalized for 2 weeks the final year of high school and unable to return. I am raising $29K to pay for tuition/expenses in the US.

Update #1

Jean Paùl was just accepted at Sonoma State University's international student program. They sent the I-20 form yesterday and we are in the process of completing the embassy's student visa online application for Fall 2021 semester which begins on August10th! If all goes well, I book a flight for JP to come here on July 10th to allow time for quarantine, vaccinations, and getting acclimated to life in Northern California. Including you, JP has a wonderful network of people who are encouraging and supporting this journey. In case you missed it, JP went to Lima a few weeks ago for a passport renewal. This is a picture from that day of "la bandera flameado,"

More Info

Despite bullying and extreme prejudice and homophobia in Peru, JP is a super positive and most delightful person.   JP spent the last 2 years in Chile working to send money home to  family who are extremely poor. JP is well-educated and knowledgeable about world history, politics, and geography,  with an enthusiasm for design and fashion. I feel that JP has much to contribute to this world and given the opportunity will soar.  Please help JP realize the dream of freedom of thought and the right to exist without fear.  Thank you.  The funds will be used for tuition ($7,000 per semester) and living expenses, $22,000 a year which includes rent, food, the university’s mandatory health insurance, books, and household supplies.
