I have until Feb 21st to raise money to support myself and my brother keep our home, stabilize our living situation and get my brother the carpal tunnel surgery he needs to return to work.
We've reached 87% of our goal!
I have been hit with a perfect storm of hardship in the last year, despite finally being able to leave an abusive work environment for what seemed like my dream job. This job was at large corporation and highly respected in its industry.
In October I was sexually assaulted three days before I started my new job. I have a lot of pressure on me. I'm currently supporting my brother who needs carpal tunnel surgery to return to work. My mental health suffered, a lot more than I was willing to admit. I worked obsessively because that job was the only way to save myself and my brother.
Last week, my landlord refused to accept my rent payment in favor of filing for eviction. I've been suffering from chronic insomnia and anxiety since my the incident in Oct. Not wanting my mental health to impact my job performance I contacted the mental health crisis counselor provided by my job through our insurance.
The next day I was terminated. I was told I would get one paycheck as severance and when I left the building I would have no health insurance, life insurance, legal aid, or prepaid transit cards.
My landlord has just moved my court date to the 21st of Feb, they have also asked for almost twice the amount of money I owed. With the loss of my job I no longer have or can afford a legal advocate. What little I've saved for the rent and my brother's medical needs will now not even cover what my landlord is demanding.
EVICTION DISMISSED!! Thank you all we did it and would not have been able to without your help and unlimited kindness. We are close to 75% of our overall fundraising goal. We are still trying to stabilize our home and get Nate carpal tunnel surgery.
I was able to speak to both Fundly and WePay about the fake donations. They are moderating my donations closely. If your card is rejected, please contact me for alternatives.
Thank you all again!
A reminder that our goal has NOT been met, we are still receiving fake donations, today we were sent $6,160. Yesterday it was 17K. We can still get legitimate donations.
We are so sorry for this confusion and it breaks my heart to be targeted for this type of harassment. - N'jaila
Our goal was NOT met, someone maliciously sent fake donations to our campaign. It triggered an account review so all REAL donations after Feb. 20th are being held. We are a little heartbroken for being targeted for this type of trolling but we are so very thankful for everyone that has supported us. - N'jaila & Nate
We thank everyone for donations and support. We received an email this morning that our funds are scheduled but not yet sent because our account is under review. We still have three days of settled payments to collect from Fundly so we can stop our eviction. Our court date was pushed back one day to the 22nd, but if the funds don't clear we still may be evicted. We are trying to contact our landlord and their lawyer to see what can be done. thank you all
Nate & N'jaila
I'm at 27% of my overall goal and have 5 days to raise another $ 2,050 dollars to save my home! Thank you to everyone that has donated, shared and most importantly offered support and love. Your love resonates and has consoled me so much during this very difficult time.
