Support JPO Recovery

Dear friends and family!  

My brother, Jonathan, (Jon, JPO, JP) has had quite a year so far.  We may add more details later but the main concern now is that he is in the step-down ICU at Upper Chesapeake.  He and Krystal (his wife) arrived last Tuesday where an emergency appendectomy was done.  Throughout the days after surgery, Jon wasn't getting any better.  The doctors proactively placed him on dialysis and a ventilator over the weekend to give his body "rest" to heal.  That seemed to help for a day, but something still wasn't right.  They took him in for a scan on Monday morning and found that he had a perforation in his bowels which was causing sepsis.  They immediately whisked him off to another emergency surgery.  The doctor believes this has resolved the cause of his decline.  He is currently still on dialysis and the vent, and we are praying like crazy that as the days go on, he will heal and his medical team will be able to wean him off these life-saving devices as his body regains the ability to do these things on it's own.

Jonathan and Krystal have a long road ahead of them.  The hospital stay is most likely going to be an extended one, and after he is released there is talk of rehab and/or extensive therapy to get my brother back on his feet and living life normally.  Krystal has barely left his side as up until today, things have changed rapidly every day and she doesn't want to miss anything.  She has been his voice, his advocate, and his comfort through this whole ordeal.

Both of them are looking at FMLA and time away from work.  They have great insurance, but even then, the medical bills are piling up.  They aren't crazy about asking for help, but know that many of us want to!  They may need financial help with the bills, his care after discharge, meals/food as they navigate Jonathan's dietary needs post-surgery, and help in the home (cleaning, equipment, yardwork) for any adjustments they may need as he recovers.  

Please consider supporting the O'Learys as they fight this ongoing battle!  Even if you can't support them financially, our family needs the prayers for his full recovery!  Pray that Jonathan continues to make improvements daily, that the medical team can wean him off the meds and machines that are keeping him alive, that he makes a full recovery and is able to enjoy his family, his friends, his life!  Pray for Krystal as she continues to be strong for him.  Pray for my parents who are watching their oldest go through this health scare.  Pray, pray, pray!
