We are bowled-over by all the recent support... THANK YOU to all the friends old and new who've donated so far! Jolynne's next hearing is next week. We still have a ways away to get our goal; and with Dixie seemingly operating with a bottomless purse, we have to push harder to meet that $10k so Jo can continue to fight w/o backing down. Please RT and blast on teh socials as you are able to.

More Info

In July, Jolynne and Rhododendron resident Dixie "Bonnie-Clyde" Bailey began an exchange of at-times heated dialog on Facebook. Dixie's role in bringing out-of-town provocateurs to our area was the basis for much of Jolynne's engagement with Dixie—as well as Dixie hosting intimidating-by-design "flag wave" events that drew attendance from violent, out-of-town Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer members.

In early August Jolynne was alerted that her daughter and her had been doxxed. Suspecting it was Dixie, Jo reached-out to Dixie to forge a truce—and never heard back. Shortly thereafter, Dixie made 2 appearances at Jolynne's home during which threats were made and a sidearm was brandished. Dixie additionally embarked upon an online campaign to encourage followers to join in her harassment efforts. Drive-in visits to Koya by non-customers to threaten Jolynne's employees and chase-off patrons, ensued. In addition to Dixie continuing to post false and politically-motivated claims about Jolynne on Facebook, Twitter, and Parler.

Deciding that enough was enough, and after being advised by local law enforcement, in late August Jolynne finally filed for a restraining order against Dixie. While we hope the journey in court is near its end, the legal fees have been piling up. For transparency we will be posting invoices for legal fees and our payment receipts, at the conclusion of the fundraiser.

Any funds raised that do not go to Jolynne's lawyer, will be donated to our friends at Rural Organizing Project, for their work supporting organizers for democracy and human dignity across rural and small-town Oregon. We will also be posting donation receipts to ROP, should we incur a donations overage, here.

Update #2

Hello, friends! We finally had a chance to catch-up with Jolynne, this weekend. Unfortunately her fight is not as close to being over as we had thought. After new witnesses came forward in Jolynne's favor, the defense requested the opportunity to present new evidence they believe to be in their favor. So, on the 16th, they return to court.

While the opportunity to go back to court may sound exciting, it is expensive. A great legal mind once said "you get the justice you pay for." As a small business owner navigating COVID and a cold/wet winter ahead, this is a nervous prospect for Jolynne. We REALLY need to step it up with her fundraising, at this point. As such, we're extending the time for her campaign... but are still asking for urgent help pushing towards our goal.

We thank each of you so much, for your support so far. With this update, we are also asking you all to ping your networks—email, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, wherever your reach may extend—and help our girl get her expenses met. We have no idea how the defense is funding their legal fees—and if they just happen to be overly comfortable with debt, that is their choice. It is not Jolynne's, though.

Jo's gone to bat for her own safety, but getting Ms Bailey on the court's radar has also been of benefit to us all. LET'S DO THIS!!!
