Neither student should abandon his studies due to economic deficiencies, however this is a phenomenon that continues to be present in the higher education establishments of our country.

The Social + (MoreSocial) represents the interests of the students of the ISSSP - Oporto High Institute of Social Work, with courses in Social Work and Social Gerontology (undoubtedly fundamental for the creation of a more just society), being attentive to this phenomenon.

The Social+ brings together a dynamic and competent work team, committed to defending the rights and interests of the students and aims to make their learner experience full and unique, being moved by the sense of providing the students of this institution with the most favorable conditions for the cognitive enhancement.

Unfortunately, more than half of our students are economically deficient and, in some cases, so serious that they jeopardize the pursuit of their studies, that is why Social+ has set out to create the Support Fund for needy Students

In a present and future facing new challenges imposed by a society in constant transformation is imperative to take measures in the best pedagogical, cognitive and social promotion of ISSSP students who, as future social intervenors, will be called to make this a better world.

The participation of all is fundamental ... because together we are + and so we challenge you to participate in this initiative, because what we want for all students is: being +, knowing +, dreaming +, smiling + ...

The Oporto High Institute of Social Work (ISSSP) is a university-level private higher education institution, created in 1956 in Porto.

With a vast accumulation of reflection and knowledge in the area of "social problems", resulting from an experience of almost 60 years in the teaching of Social Work, it has been providing training for Social Workers since 1956, being one of the oldest Social Service teaching institutions in Portugal with an ample patrimony of pedagogical and scientific experience.

In 2008, the ISSSP created an undergraduate degree in Social Gerontology which aims to train professionals with scientific knowledge on the phenomenon of aging and theoretical and practical knowledge about the phenomenon of aging. intervention in concrete situations, in particular in the areas of repair and restoration of social relations and the change of the current representations of the third age as a stage of life incompatible with learning and personal development.

The ISSSP also assures the 2nd cycle training with the following master's degrees: Social Gerontology, since 2007 and Social Intervention in Childhood and Youth at Risk of Exclusion, since 2009.

With the aim of promoting lifelong learning and providing scientific technical support to the surrounding community, the Cooperative also has a Community Extension and Training Center that promotes postgraduate courses and short and medium-term continuing education courses.
