I'm fundraising for longtime Shaw resident Venone Warren, who lost his home in a fire on July 24, 2019. All donations go directly to Mr. Warren's bank account.
On July 24, a Shaw resident named Venone Warren lost his home in a devastating house fire. He was on the second floor when he smelled smoke, so he left the house quickly. He was unable to gather any of his possessions or save his pet cat.
The fire was an electrical one, and the damages will eventually be covered by insurance. However, insurance can take a long time to pay out, and in the meantime Mr. Warren needs help covering necessities. He has been staying with Sabrina, another Shaw resident who lives near his old house. He will use the Fundly money for clothes (he currently only has a couple of changes of clothes), food, and helping Ms Sabrina with the rent.
Mr. Warren is a kind and humble man and has lived in the Shaw neighborhood for over 20 years. He wants to use the insurance money to rebuild the house and stay in the neighborhood, especially because it was mother’s home. He had lived with her and cared for her until she passed away in 2016.
Let’s rally together as a neighborhood and support him through this difficult and painful time. Even small donations can go a long way to getting him back on his feet.
This campaign is linked to Mr. Warren’s bank account and all donations go directly to him.
