More Info

The news of the imprisonment of former President Jacob Zuma has brought detrimental violent protests and riots to the Kwa-Zulu-Natal and Gauteng provinces this week.

Looters are emptying Chemists (pharmacies) of all products, medications and vehicles used to delivery medications to residents. Grocery stores have been emptied of all food and beverage items and the warehouses to restock all stores have been burnt to the ground. Shopping malls and other businesses have been burned, flooded, and destroyed.

People have no access to food, many don't have access to water, petrol or safety for their families or businesses. Many friends have been sharing first hand videos of the fires, looting, violence and gunfire erupting and it has shaken me to my core.

Umkomaas, South Africa is a town of a mere 3000 people and yet known to MANY people worldwide. Umkomaas is the home of Aliwal Shoal - a World Famous Shark Diving Destination.

This place is not just a destination for me, it has become my home over the last 6 years. The imagery that I create would not be possible without the amazing team of people at Blue Ocean Dive Resort and amongst the community. The people that I have met here over these years have become my family and they are all in dyer need. It deeply saddens me to see businesses, homes and the community that many spent so much time, energy and money to create destroyed. People without access to medication, food or safety.

As a thank you, ONE lucky winner will be chosen at random to win a Prize Pack including:

-A set of 2 of my fine art prints created right there at Aliwal Shoal with the help of so many incredible local residents.

-A set of 2 fine art prints by Canadian Wildlife Photographer Trevor Pottelberg. (Your choice of imagery from his website)
