Support for the Lawless Family

From Michelle Levell

Lauren Lawless' son, Patrick, battled years of addiction and now is on life support. These funds will help with the costs to bury him next to his father in the family plot. Any extra will go to Killian's college trust.

A note from Lauren, Patrick's mom.

Words will never adequately express how grateful we are, but Rich, Killian, and I would like to thank all of you for your generosity. It is still quite difficult to comprehend that Patrick is gone, but the outpouring of support demonstrated how loved he was. Patrick has been cremated, as were his wishes, and the adoption process of Killian continues.

Patrick would often say to me "Don't sweat it, Ma." Okay, kid, I'll try my hardest.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

More Info

My dear friend, Lauren, is facing a parent's worst nightmare. Please join me in helping her family.

update 3/27/19: Patrick passed away around 9:40pm.

From Lauren -- My son, Patrick, is dying. He battled drug addiction for 10 years, going in and out of rehabs and halfway houses. He is now in ICU with pneumonia, lung failure, and liver failure. While he struggles in the ICU, we know that the end is near and that a burial will be needed soon.

We have been raising his son, Killian, as our own for 10 years and have no way to pay for death expenses. We would like to bury Patrick with his father in the family plot.

Funds raised above the cost of burying him will be placed in a college trust fund for Killian. Thank you for your support and love.

Update #3

A Final Farewell to Patrick Kirby.

On Saturday, April 6th, there will be a celebration of Patrick. His loves in life included his son Killian, heavy metal, guitar playing and his passion for Muay Thai.

His support system was a dedicated team of friends at Wai Kru. When he was able, Patrick helped coach the martial art of Muay Thai.

Patrick's best friend Liz, along with his devoted Muay Thai team, led by Kru John, have arranged a “Patrick Style” farewell. There will be a DJ, a chef, cocktails, and Muay Thai demonstrations.

This is a casual event. All family, friends of Patrick, and friends of Patrick's family are welcome to attend.

When: Saturday, April 6th at 3:00pm
Where: Wai Kru Boston
236 Brighton Avenue
Allston MA
617-254-2222

Update #2

Thank you very much for all your support for Lauren, Rich, and Killian. These have been difficult days, but seeing all your thoughtful notes and sharing happier memories have given them comfort.

I hope to see Lauren next week to give her the funds we've raised for them, so the money is available for the funeral expenses.

Thank you for this outpouring of love for them.

Kind regards,
Michelle
