NEW DEVELOPMENT! We did something special to the interior this weekend. What do you think of these hip fish? Thank goodness we have an artist in the family.
God is BIGGER! Bigger than loosing a job after 18 years and bigger than ANY worldly disappointment. Read our story to see how God is the BIG of Big Fish Hideaway.
Friends, something really BIG happened to us recently. Three weeks ago, David came home from work on a Friday and told me he had been let go from his job. I knew in my heart that God was in control of our lives and that He would provide for our needs, but I have to admit, the human part of me immediately went into panic mode. I was angry, scared, and confused as to why this happened. But while I was quietly freaking out, I was also impressed by how calm my husband was and how he humbly asked God for direction. The next day was a day full of looking for possible jobs online and brainstorming ideas on what to do next. Many of you know that David's first half of his career was in the restaurant business, and he always talked about opening a restaurant some day. So on Sunday evening, I decided to get out of the house and take a drive down A1A. A car was tailing me, so I pulled into the first parking lot to let them pass me, and as I turned my car around, I saw a restaurant that I had never noticed before. There was a sign in the window which I thought was odd, so I got out to look at it. It said they were experiencing problems and had to temporarily close. I texted the owner and asked him if he was interested in leasing or selling his restaurant, and he and David met the next day. Three weeks later, and we are partnering with the owner and beginning the process of transforming Marilyn's Cafe into Big Fish Hideaway. Ya'll, God's plan was bigger! Bigger than anything that we could put together on our own. Everything we have gone through has helped prepare us for this moment. For example, at one of the restaurants David was the general manager of, he personally was required to make the bread everyday from scratch. Now, our restaurant will have fresh homemade bread and tortillas daily. So many things just like this are revealing themselves to us! God is so good! His plan is always for the bigger picture. That is why we knew we had to put big in our name, so we would always remember how big God is. Fish because of our love for fishing, seafood, and our name- Fisher. And Hideaway because our restaurant was hidden in plain sight. We invite you to join us on this journey. Follow us on social media to watch what God has in store for us and watch us renovate the restaurant. We can't wait to share our new menu and invite ya'll l to come in and share a meal with us.
There are a few ways you can support us right now. Most importantly, please pray for God's continued guidance and blessing. Secondly, email us a high resolution photo to firstname.lastname@example.org for our wall. (I am going to be blowing up black and white photos of people in our community with their big fish.) Third, we would love for you to purchase a t-shirt or sweatshirt with our new logo or join our Founder's Club (see sample images in the image gallery). Proceeds will go towards helping with opening costs. And Lastly, come in and eat as soon as we are up and running! I promise that once you try David's menu, you will be hooked! :) Wendy
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
We already have 4 members of our Founder's Club. These people will have their name on a plaque in the restaurant and will receive 10% off every time they come in to the restaurant. They will also receive a Big Fish Hideaway t-shirt and some awesome swag. Thank you so much for your support!
