A big thank you to everyone who has shared and donated this fund. The show of support for those people involved in tourism and small-scale media creation in Afghanistan has been overwhelming. The funds have allowed us to start arranging support for those affected by the regime change in Afghanistan.

We have managed to support and action the wishes to leave Afghanistan for some of the guides and fixers most at risk. Some of the most prominent guides, who have featured in news media reports and/or have organized sports events for women who were especially vulnerable, have now left Afghanistan for their safety. This includes Afghanistan’s only female tour guide.

We are also in the process of sending small cash payments for others who have worked with international tourists and small-scale media creators, to help them financially during this time of upheaval. Additionally, we have also committed to donate 10% of this fund to Afghan Aid as part of the wider humanitarian assistance.

However, the future is still very unknown for ALL of these people. We continue to assist and advise those who have left their homes with just the clothes on their back, as well as offering candid and practical support, advice and options for those still in Afghanistan, who face an uncertain future. Please support us to support these people through donations and sharing this fundraising effort.

More Info

With the change of regime in Afghanistan there are many groups of workers who are now left without income, support and are at potential risk due to their work with the international community. One of these groups is the people who guide and arrange logistics for tourists and media projects.

Inertia Network, Soviet ToursUntamed BordersLupine TravelIshkar and Secret Compass are partnering together to raise funds for our local partners - guides, drivers, fixers, local journalists, translators, hoteliers, and their families. We as a group of tour operators and media professionals are reaching out for your help to support these people amid a humanitarian crisis.

These are people who we know and care about deeply. They are not directly employed by large NGOs or international government organizations, but they have taken risks and sacrifices to promote their nation, share stories, and keep visitors safe.

For those who have been to Afghanistan, your guides took care of you. Now we are asking you to help take care of them. For those watching with horror, we too cry every day for what is happening. But we need to fight through those tears and support those who face the gravest of threats.

Please help us by donating what you can and sharing this fundraiser to your networks!

Grants will be given for the following (this list can change and is flexible as the situation changes):

1.Emergency funds for transportation to safe areas (flights, overland vehicles, etc.).

2. Resettlement funds for displaced people who have moved within or out of Afghanistan.

3. Support of living and daily essential costs (inside or outside the country, seeing how things change).

4. Sponsorship financing for refugee and humanitarian visas.

5. A portion of all money collected will also go to support the general humanitarian crisis brought about by the change of regime in Afghanistan.
