Update #5

I am 25% of the way to the goal!

$50 can help 5 families navigate life after brain injury.

Navigating life after a brain injury:
•Finding medical providers
-BIAC has a resource directory for that! Professionals at the top of the brain injury field in Colorado are listed in their provider directory and categorized by type of provider!

•Understanding brain injury
-BIAC has an entire set of resources on their website/available by request with: caregiver and survivor educational resources categorized by what you’re looking for help with

•Filling out paperwork
-BIAC has a wonderful set of staff that can be reached over the phone to assist survivors and caregivers with navigation of the website and resource directory

•Connecting to community-based resources
-BIAC’s website and staff can provide information about local support groups , ways to connect with resources and services in your local area, and virtual classes/groups through their organization!
Brain Injuries are an instantaneous life changing event. There is no planning ahead, a survivor’s life changes in an instant. Passionate and patient centered providers in the brain injury community can’t do it alone, not without organizations like The Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado.

BIAC is a non-profit organization that is designed to help make that massive life change a little easier.

Right now my donation amount to the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado is at $77. Who out there is going to help me reach the half-way point (or further!) of my goal ($1000) by next Tuesday?!

I am so unbelievably appreciative and grateful for the money I have been able to raise and will be able to donate to BIAC because of the awesome people that have shown their support for my practice!

About Neuro-based Speech Solutions and our mission:

In March 2020, I formed Neuro-based Speech Solutions, LLC. with the intent to begin a speech therapy private practice in Montrose, Colorado. Shortly after, the COVID-19 shut down was put in place, resulting in my company unable to secure an appropriate clinic location, proper PPE and clinic materials, and adequate referral sources without the assistance of another therapy clinic in the area. I have been a speech language pathologist for over ten years, specializing in adult neuro-rehabilitation and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation. I primarily work with adults following a stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological impairments.

Throughout my career as a practicing speech pathologist in Montrose, I have had the opportunity to facilitate the local traumatic brain injury and stroke support group, provide educational opportunities for community members, and provide high quality services to patients but at an inconsistent rate due to inadequate funding sources as a result of COVID-19. However, during this time I have had the ability to generate more referrals from providers in the Montrose area, create and maintain working relationships with medical providers, office managers, and medical assistants, increase understanding and awareness of the importance of speech therapy services for individuals following a stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological incidents to regain functional independence and safety with functional daily tasks.

I am here to raise funds for:

-Rent for the beautiful office space in Montrose Colorado. A single office space will allow minimal risk of COVID exposure/transmission (see pictures above!!)

-Sanitizing and cleaning supplies for the office and office furniture

- Therapy Materials, Furniture, and Equipment for Office

Help support and essential start up business in Western Colorado! This community needs these services and I can't do it alone!

I am so appreciative of any support for my business and practice, especially during these uncertain times! Thank you for your support and consideration!

Light and Love,

Tracie, Owner and Speech Pathologist

Neuro-based Speech Solutions, LLC.
