Talent is universal. Opportunity is not. I am part of a mission to open doors of opportunity for all by giving laptops to every student who needs one. And I need your help.
I'm a former school principal who has seen firsthand how the lack of access to technology can be THE obstacle that prevents a student from realizing his or her potential. Although access to technology has proliferated in our society, there remain millions of students who still lack access to the robust tools and resources they need to succeed in school and flourish in life. These students are way behind their peers who do have access, and this digital divide threatens to become an inequity that will negatively impact generations to come. That’s why I am working with Technology for the Future, a remarkable nonprofit with a mission to conquer this divide and get laptops with educational and entrepreneurial resources into the hands of all those millions of students. My goal is to develop community partnerships and gain support from my ever growing network of passionate friends and associates who believe, as I do, that opening the doors of opportunity for our young people is an exceptionally forward-thinking approach to making a powerful difference in their lives, and a profound impact on the future of us all.
We are Technology for the Future, a youth-led organization dedicated to getting useful technology into the hands of children who otherwise wouldn’t have it. Because access to technology is absolutely key for our young people to achieve success in school and in life, we are on a mission to put at least one million laptops into the hands of one million students who otherwise wouldn’t have access to them by the end of 2020. This is an ambitious mission, but we know that with the support of committed champions, community leaders, and benefactors like you, we can make this happen.
$100 empowers one student to realize his or her dreams. A contribution of any amount helps us effect a profound difference in addressing the digital equity divide – making an immediate impact in the lives of our children today, and a deep and lasting impact on the entire world tomorrow.
