My dream is to travel around the world. My mother went to Turkey for college and I have grown up hearing about the experiences and people there that changed her and I want to have a similar opportunity. I think that learning about other cultures is vital for having a better understanding of the world.  Being able to do that before heading off to college this fall would be a dream come true. The program that I have chosen is called ARCC and I am going to be leaving for 3 months: from February to May of 2020. I have been working hard this semester at school so I will be able to graduate in December. After I graduate I will be working for a month to save up as much money as I can myself. The trip itself is $14,000 and airfare is $2,252. I am working as hard as I can to get the funds but I would really appreciate any help that would allow me to go on this amazing adventure. Through this program I will be participating in volunteer and academic activities. I will be learning about health care access in Bali at a birthing clinic, helping to teach English at a Fijian school, volunteering at a cashew factory in Bali, helping with a coral reef rehabilitation program. And perhaps, most excitingly, I will participate in tracking orangutans in Sumatra. I am also going to have the opportunity to experience many new cultures through home-stays in the small communities. I will be starting at a four year university in the fall and I want to travel and see more of the world before I go off to college!!
