The population of stray dogs in India is out of control. This crowdfunding is focused on saving dogs from my hometown in Kolkata, where animals are abused, neglected, and left alone to die of sickly diseases.

During my trip to India, I met this stray dog right next to my house suffering from mange, and external parasites infestation and met with an accident and couldn't walk straight. I knew I had to rescue this dog, but felt so helpless, there is no vet nearby, no rescue shelter. I begged for help but most people said No, letting the dog die a painful death. I managed to put a rescue team together. While taking her to the vet, I met a lady, Suchetana carrying a tub of dog food in a cycle. She stopped me and said she has been treating this dog for the last 1 week. After speaking to her, I started following her journey. She leaves home in the morning until evening, and goes around feeding 150+ stray dogs and cats in our Hooghly town. She then medicates them and helps them defecate if they are unable to walk or do it themselves. She has treated 1000+ dogs herself. She works only on a donation basis. She has so far neutered 50 dogs. She lost her small business because she spent all her time rescuing and feeding these strays. All her food for dogs, medications comes from donation and begging. She encountered a dog that was bit by another dog and was being eaten alive by maggots. She was able to treat him every day and now is 90% recovered. Please follow her Facebook page to see the journey of rescuing dogs. It's my promise to her that I will do everything in my power to help her consistently neuter all dogs in our town, and help treat those in need. We don't have a clean supply of water here and animals are forced to drink the open sewage. Watch this video I made while following her on my trip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j79ykT0YQAYOur initiative is to be able to vaccinate (Rabies and DHPPI) and sterilize at least 50% of dogs in our small town which is more than 500. All our donations go directly to her in buying supplies and surgeries.
She suffers from arthritis and is still on her feet day and night. Please help this lady. There is only one of her but thousands of strays.
