The Greater Las Vegas STR Association is asking you to donate to our legal fund to fight Las Vegas officials who are attacking our ability to rent our private homes on a short-term basis and to stop the huge fines.

We have a MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT for those who have donated money. This is MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR NEWS!
We will have a private meeting for this tomorrow, Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 5PM.
History of the fight.
Renting one's home to travelers is a centuries-old practice for which government should not punish homeowners for.Enough is enough! For years, we have been working in good faith meeting with public officials at the local and state level to share with them personal stories from individuals and families who benefit from short-term renting and warning them how these Nevadans would be adversely affected by the over-regulations imposed on these homeowners and their property through their overly-aggressive State laws and local regulations which in many cases violate both the Nevada and US Constitution.
Families need a boost in their finances so they can keep up with the high inflation, low paying jobs, looming recession, and high cost of healthcare, among other things. Many homeowners around the world rely on short-term renting as a source, and sometimes their only source, of income. While big corporations in our State, like the resort hotels, make record profits, individuals Nevadans and their families continue to struggle. Yet, Assemblywoman Rochelle Nguyen and the Nevada Legislature voted in favor of State Bill AB363 last year to give economic protections for big corporations in Nevada while passing harsh rules and regulations to deprive Nevadan homeowners the ability to rent their residential-homes on a short-term basis.
It is clear that our State and local officials only care about protecting the profits of big corporations on the backs of average Nevadans!
They do this by over-regulating, imposing harsh fines and penalties, and bullying average Nevadans into submission with the threat of fines of up to $10,000 a day and jail time for the simple act of trying to earn a living by renting their private home or a room in their home!
These are the very public officials who claim to stand for criminal justice reform, the little people, struggling families, the middle class, seniors, veterans, and those struggling to make ends meet; yet here they are supporting fines of up to $10,000 a day and jail time for simply renting one's own home for less than 31 days.
These are also the same public officials who claim to stand against corporate greed and claim to support reducing the wealth gap between the rich and poor; yet, here they are protecting the profits of their corporate donors and depriving individuals the ability to earn a living from an activity that has existed and has been allowed for centuries, renting ones home to travelers.
We can no longer sit quietly by and hide. We must come together as a community of homeowners and fight back this corrupt political system that benefits those at the top and oppresses those at the bottom by taking away our property rights and violating our constitutional rights and freedoms through local and state regulations.
This is why we are asking all hosts and STR owners to donate towards our host legal fund. We need EVERYONE to donate as the cost to put up a legal fight is high. We are fighting against local and State government officials who have unlimited taxpayer money to waste and big local special interest groups with deep pockets to attack us, but we have the Nevada and US Constitution on our side. Going to court is the only way we can protect ourselves from government overreach and injustice!
We need to stand up and protect our property rights. Local and State public officials are not above the law even when they write laws or regulations, they are required to follow and respect people's constitutionally protected rights and freedoms.
We need our Courts to preserve and affirm our property rights in Nevada and slap down all the extreme rules and regulations being placed on Nevada property owners and travelers to Las Vegas.
The Greater Las Vegas STR Association (GLVSTRA) intends on doing just that, even if that means going all the way to the Nevada Supreme Court! We've hired a top law firm with experience in fighting local ordinances and State laws here in Nevada. They believe in our cause and aren't afraid to go toe-to-toe against any County or even the State and will fight fiercely for our cause. We have already defeated the County twice! Now, we need to get ready for our next big battle in the Nevada Supreme Court!
Donate today! We need everyone onboard. We are asking everyone to please make a committment to donate $1500, $2500, $5000, $10,000! If we do not reach our funding goal, we will be defeated simply for the lack of funds.
Rember that alone, you would have to pay over $150,000 to fight the County in Court, an appeal will cost you another $50,000 to $100,000. These same expenses, we can cover if we all continue to come together donating towards the $250,000 goal!So donate today! The money you are donating is an investment to defend your livelihood and the future of your family!

Our court date for the Injunction is coming up. Please keep on donating. We know that the County will more than likely appeal when and if we do win.
As you know, we cannot afford to lose this fight because it means you will have to stop operating completely or face fines of up to $10,000 PER DAY and/or criminal charges. You will either have to fight the County alone or we can find them together! Keep updated on our lawsuit: https://www.glvstra.org/lawsuit

Clark County Code Enforcement is once again trying to start shutting down short-term rentals this month with threats of fines of up to $10,000 PER NIGHT!
This, we feel, is in direct violation of State law which, as of July 1, 2022, makes it ILLEGAL for Clark County to enforce a prohibition on STRs.
What's also in direct violation of State law is Clark County's attempt to add these fines to your property's tax rolls. The County tried to have the State grant them that power; but the State Bill (SB57) DIED and WAS NOT APPROVED by the Nevada Legislature, meaning Clark County DOES NOT have this power.
We need every single host to continue to donate each month!
We are only asking you to donate at least $250 or ONE-NIGHT out of one month of each of your rentals.
$250 is a small investment from you to have a top law firm fighting on our behalf.
These new UNLAWFUL actions by Clark County need to be stopped.
Donate now!!!
It will cost you more money if you get the smallest fine from Clark County which is $1,000 PER NIGHT than it costs you now to donate to have a law firm fighting for us!
We already filed a lawsuit against Clark County to challenge the Ordinance and our Court hearing has been set to the second week of November.
However, this new action by Clark County with these notices need to be addressed and stopped! Donate NOW, so we can have our law firm take legal action on these new notices too.

We filed our lawsuit against Clark County, the Clark County Commissioners, and the State of Nevada on August 2, 2022 to challenge the overall regulations and short-term rental laws adopted by our local and State public officials.
Our first court hearing is scheduled for September 20, 2022.

We have reached 50% of our fundraising goal thanks to hosts and service men and women in the short-term rental community in Las Vegas who have donated thus far!
There are over 10,000 Airbnbs operating in Las Vegas. Together we can reach our final goal of $100,000 so we can defend your ability to continue hosting in Nevada.
Local and State officials are pushing aggressive regulations that will go into effect in a month and will greatly impact and deprive the majority of hosts the ability to continue hosting.
If you have not donated yet, we ask that you please do so. Your funds will help us take our fight to Court to defend your property rights and challenge the laws governing short-term rentals.
We need to fight back! Donate!
