Update #1

Thank you all who have donated and supported this project! With other donations not on this website the donations given have well exceeded what I was asking for! I have spent several months asking hardware stores for donations and looking at grants but in less than 24 hours I have reached my goal and then some thanks to all of you!

Burnett Woods Eagle Project

I am currently a Life Scout in Troop 358 in Zionsville, Indiana, and I am working on my Eagle Project. For my Eagle Scout project, we will be cutting a new trail in Burnett Woods. The Central Indiana Land Trust owns a plot of land in Avon, Indiana that currently has a short trail, and they would like to create a longer trail that will utilize more of the property. The plan is for the trail to be just under a mile long and the Central Indiana Land Trust requests that it is about 2 feet wide. Components of this project will include cutting .94 miles of trail and completion of 2 foot bridge sections. The bridge will consist of two 12 foot x 4 foot sections made by running 2x6 boards across 6x6 beams. It will meet on a small embankment in the middle of the creek. We will split in to two teams: one will work on the bridges, and the other group will work on cutting the trail. Cutting the trail will include clearing brush with clippers and hand saws and then raking a defined path.
