I want to help young people launch into real-estate investments through a "Train, Fund, Guide" program.
My name is Cris Gonczi, I am a family man, a father of four, I enjoy living life with my loving wife Ana. I have a heart for helping people; especially young people just starting out in life. Often times I find myself on the phone talking endless hours about the benefits of real estate investing, and how it can help you launch in life. The most common common thing I hear from young people is that they don't have the money to invest, and what an overwhelming task it is to buy, repair, re-sale a house can be.
I want to change their mind. If they save enough for the downpayment, are willing to learn from me and my peers about the ins and outs of real-estate investing, I would like to fund the remodel or repairs on their first flip or rental property.
Why am I doing this?
Because I wish someone would have done the same for me when I was 20. A family friend in Rochester, NY offered me a deal back in 2000. He would GIVE me a property in downtown Rochester to help me get started in life, and all I had to do, was to repair it, maintain it, rent it and manage it. Well, guess what? I did not have the money to even change a light bulb on the house, so the deal fell through and I regret it to this day.
I wish someone would have told me about resources like Dave Ramsey (live a debt free life and be responsible with your finances), Rich Dad Poor Dad (my first ever exposure to a different view on money), Bigger Pockets (podcast), and so many other amazing life changing resources that I love.
Why funding the remodel or repairs?
Because I understand the residential remodeling industry and have confidence I can mentor young people through their first deal. having worked in the remodeling industry since 2004, I understand the buying and selling aspect because I work with a great team of real estate professionals who are ready to educate, and I understand finances because I followed Rich Dad's advice to go and get educated. I hold a Bachelor's in Finance, have worked as a financial advisor for a large international corporation, and am continuously striving to continue learning. Today I am enrolled in the Masters for Construction Management program at Arizona State University, and am planning to apply my knowledge on a larger scale in the future.
Who will benefit?
Young college grads, young couples just getting married, people who just need a little boost in life.
What will the funds be used for?
For funding the initial repairs or remodel on first investment deals. Money will be paid back at sale of property or re-financing of the rental property.
What will this mean to me?
I've been through two economic storms in life: 07' and 2020. What I remember from 07' is wanting to go to jobs and not having money for gas to do it. Deep depression and desperation. What I remember from 2020, is having safety guards in place, extra cash from rental income which softened the drop in income, and I was able to help others who have literally spent their last dollar.
It would mean a lot to me to be able to help others go from panic attacks to plan of attack. I want to show people that it's possible, not just talk about it. There are so many resources, podcasts, books, training programs out there teaching you how to do it. I want to help people get started and implement what they learn.
