San Juan School, Home of the Padres, is fundraising for our sports program to serve middle school students. We need funding for jerseys, sport equipment, referee fees, and travel expenses.
San Juan School in San Juan Bautista California serves approximately 380 economically challenged and disadvantaged youth. Our goal with this fundraising campaign is to provide jerseys, necessary equipment, funds for referee fees, and travel expenses. We have held flag football and girls volleyball. Coaches are parents or community members who volunteer their time. With the most recent sport, girl's volleyball, the coach reflected on what a difference the sport had made in the girl's lives. The girls came together as a team and developed strong friendships. They learned how to work collaboratively and depend on each other. They also grew in individual skills and confidence. We are reaching out because we really need funding to continue programs for the rest of the school year. We want to have boys and girls basketball, co-ed volleyball, track, and soccer. However, the school district provides absolutely no funding. We think these programs are critical. We want our students engaged in positive, self-esteem building activities. We hope you can help with bringing sports to the life of a needy and worthy student.
