The CharityRoald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity funds Roald Dahl Specialist Children's Nurses in communities across the UK. They provide expert care and support to children with serious illnesses, and their families. Roald Dahl's most loved children's stories follow the tales of plucky children like Matilda and Charlie Bucket battling their circumstances with bravery and a bit of mischief.  From Miss Honey to Willy Wonka, there is always a friendly grown up to stand up for the child when no one else will.  The children we help are battling serious illness, and often associated family and financial difficulties, but our Roald Dahl nurses are there to champion and support them to live the best life possible, no matter how serious their illness or how short their life may be.In Scotland, we have 9 Roald Dahl nurses, who mainly focus on children suffering with epilepsy. Our Roald Dahl nurse works at NHS Grampian Aberdeen helping those with epilepsy.

"Never do anything by halves if you want to get away with it. Be outrageous. Go the whole hog. Make sure everything you do is so completely crazy it's unbelievable." - MatildaThe Marvellous Event & other Fundraising Activities

My main activity is by participating in the Spartan Beast Race in Perth. This is a massive 12+ mile course, with 30-35 obstacles. It will test everything i'm made of!

Some of the obstacles:

  • Barbed Wire Crawl
  • Wall Jumps
  • Rope Climb
  • 4ft Wall Climb
  • Sandbag Carry
  • Tyrolean Traverse
  • Atlas Carry
  • Monkey Bars
  • Hercules Hoist
  • Fire Jump
  • Log Flip
  • Tyre Carry
  • Rope Traverse

Oh & for any obstacle I fail there is a 30 burpee penalty... to say this is going to be a challenge, is definitely an understatement!

I will also be looking to fundraise via raffles and working with local schools! I will organise various competitions, dress up days and local movie experiences.
