We are raising money to secure advanced training tools and equipment and reserve private gym time for players. For 2020, we want our players to be able to access a court to train, any time any day.

Over the last several weeks, I’ve watched several high school games including teams such as Notre Dame, Providence, Westlake, Burbank, Birmingham, Sierra Canyon, Beverly Hills, Santa Clarita Christian, and many more. In all of these games, I have paid close attention to the elite players on Varsity as well as up and coming Frosh and JV players, assessing their on court performances and capabilities. I’ve seen young players play at all levels, some good ones making significant team contributions, others simply riding the bench. One thing that is evident at the HS level is if you don’t have that raw athletic ability to dunk the ball at any given time, you need to have advanced basketball skills (knockdown sharpshooting, great passing ability, unstoppable attack moves, superb footwork, lockdown defender, etc) in order to be effective on the court.
I’m proud to say that we have over 50+ players playing at the HS level (frosh-varsity), who at one point trained directly under the supervision of the SoCal Hoops Coaching staff. Making the HS team is just the beginning and continuing to get better takes hard work, dedication, and effort. I want the boys to TRUST the PROCESS and not just focus on immediate results. The process of training...the process of working out...the process of skill development...the process of learning from their mistakes...the process of getting better over time. If the boys put in work, the results will show.
The coaching staff has designed a multiple training programs to prepare our younger players for HS and ensure our existing HS players show significant gains during the off-season. December is already over and the end of the HS season will be here before we know it. Summer is just around the corner. Our basketball training curriculum emphasizes advanced footwork, skills development, and athletic training, allowing players to be explosive, powerful, and aggressive on the court. We’ve recently invested in several new training tools (as seen in the recent videos) ranging from resistance bands, load training, plyometric boxes, weighted vests, and additional gym locations. Our coaching staff has also received new skills and training certifications, ensuring we offer the best overall training program for our players.
This is just the beginning and we want to source all the training tools and programs so our players reach their basketball potential. I’m trying to raise $10,00 by the end of January 2020 to purchase more training equipment and reserve more gym time for our players for the entire year. I'm finalizing some plans where we can have a place to train anytime we want. However, I need the funds to secure unlimited access to a few gym locations. I want our players to be able to train any day, any time and securing a private gym will allow this. I would like to ask all parents, friends, and family members to please make a donation to SoCal Hoops to help cover some of these costs. Any proceeds are tax deductible under the 501c3 tax code. Thank you for all of your support!
