More Info

Snakebites are a neglected health crisis and a serious burden in Africa with over 500,000 snakebites annually that require critical treatment and antivenom. This epidemic annually causes approximately 25,000 deaths, 30,000 amputations, and 96,000 who suffer from serious side effects and disfigurements. This health crisis mainly affects children, women, and farmers in poor rural areas with little or no health care systems or medical resources.  Currently very few countries in Africa have the capacity to produce antivenom and major pharmaceutical companies have been reluctant to manufacture antivenom.  Amicus Health International is working with in-country experts to produce antivenom from over 10,000 snakes to distribute in critical areas.  Your donation will directly impact and save many lives.  Amicus Health International is a Nonprofit organization providing vital and critical Medical, Clinical and Humanitarian Care to relieve those affected by disease, war, famine and natural disasters, caring for all.
