Help open the doors to our newly renovated monastery building and chapel. Saint John the Baptist Monastery is an Orthodox Christian men’s monastery of the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Diocese.
In October we received more than 65 donations from individuals and parishes, and have received $37,000 towards our goal of $50,000.
We especially thank the clergy and parishioners of Holy Resurrection in Allston, MA for donating almost $26,000. Two large gifts, of $10,000 and $6,000, from two different families should be acknowledged, along with all of the separate efforts of different parishioners which included: taking donations at coffee hour, a Bulgarian dance recital, a bake sale, and a children's book sale.
St. Stephen’s in Indianapolis made a large donation of $4,000 towards the chapel’s bell tower and domes.
We are grateful for all the parishes that collected funds for the monastery: Holy Dormition, Santa Rosa, CA $1,818, the Diocesan Cathedral, New York, NY $1,550, St. Innocent Mission, Roanoke, VA $1,230 and more to come, St. Petka, St. Petersburg, FL $1,140, Joy of All Who Sorrow, Indianapolis, IN $900, Holy Tranfiguration, Syracuse, NY $438.00, Saint Joseph Mission, Baroda, MI $230, and individuals from St. Petka, Boston, MA. We also received an anonymous donation for $1,067.00 and donations from many other individuals.
Thank you all for playing an essential part in building St. John the Baptist Monastery! Glory be to God for His care for the monastery through your generous support.
