I visited Rosa yesterday and brought her the money we had raised so far at that point ($464! And we now have almost $200 more!). She was so touched! This really meant a lot to her. Thanks to everyone who helped!

The front and side of the building have been repainted, and the ugly words have been scraped off the back. I believe someone has volunteered to paint the back, but will see that it is done if not. A local artist has promised to paint a mural on the side, over the new paint patch!

The money raised so far will be used to replace the damaged front door glass, and towards some security lights. I'm hoping we can raise some more to help with general beautification and get some security cameras, to help protect against this happening again, and just make her feel safer. But regardless, thanks for all you've done! If you can't donate, please consider just posting a kind comment. It means so much to the family. Also, please share this post! THANK YOU ALL!

Rosa’s Hair Salon has operated in downtown Easley for 20 years. It was vandalized last night with hateful graffiti, saying "Go back to Mexico", and so on. The owner is not only a U.S citizen, she is from Cuba.  Full story here: http://www.wyff4.com/article/go-back-to-mexico-spray-painted-on-upstate-business/22220937

I am an attorney in Greenville, SC, and I'd like to raise some money to help Rosa clean up her shop, fix her front door, maybe install some security lights and cameras, and to show her she is welcome here. No donation is too small. Money is great, but the thought is just as important. Hoping we can show her a lot of names of people out here who are with her. She's been a citizen here for 27 years and had this shop for 20. I think we can all imagine how this has to feel.

Okay, so...not so much on the words successfully being scraped off the back. But efforts are ongoing. And the glass is fixed!
