There is no doubt that we all recognize the huge benefits that come with giving money to charities. Charitable organizations are an absolutely pivotal part of our society. Without them, many people would find themselves in much tougher situations than they currently find themselves in. As such, a lot of us are usually keen to give to charities but don’t often find ourselves in the right position to do so.

Why Might You Struggle to Give to Charity?

The answer is simple: many of us don’t have much money, and as a result, we don’t have disposable cash that we can give away. Granted, it may be a good idea to start trying to save money, so you find yourself in a much more stable position. This is good not just for charities that you might be able to donate to but also because it will give you greater peace of mind as well.

An effective way to start saving money is to head over to the bill pay app, Deferit. This will pay your bills, and you will pay back that money in 4 interest-free payments that do not come with any late fees attached. By taking off the pressure of impending bills you are putting yourself in a much more stable position financially in order to begin saving money that can be used for charity.

Other Ways Can Give

Of course, giving to charity does not start and stop at financial donations. Some of the alternative means by which you can also give include:

-          Help a Stranger

We could all do with having a little bit more empathy, and a good way to do this in your day-to-day life is by helping a stranger. This could be a very small task like holding open a door or smiling at them, maybe you could give up a seat for them on public transport? Either way, regardless of how big or how small the act you end up doing is, helping a stranger is a great way to give back to the world, and it doesn’t cost a thing except for a small amount of time.

-          Donate Items of Clothing / Fabrics

One day when you have some spare time, go through your wardrobe and pick out all of the clothes that you no longer wear. Once you have everything, take it down to your local shelter and give it away so that the items can be sold or given to people who can make use out of them. This will have a positive benefit on the lives of so many people and you are also going to free up your wardrobe in the process. You can also give away the likes of blankets and throws as well for the same reason.

-          Donate Blood

Whether you are doing it regularly or just as a one-off, donating blood is a very effective way to make sure that you are giving back to those who truly need it. You should look up where you can do this locally and get started.
