Sherri's Surgical Savings

Sherri's Surgical Savings

From Sherri Napier

After almost 2 solid years of pain, I am approved for a hysterectomy. At this point, I am more worried about the 4-6+ weeks of missed work than the major surgery. Please help me pay my bills so I can recover in peace!

Well, we're 2 days post-surgery, and so far everything is going well! Surgery was a success, and they were able to perform everything laparoscopically, so we're hopeful the recovery time won't be the 6-week upper estimate!

I got to leave the hospital after one day of observation, and I'm currently convalescing under the watchful eye of my parents. I'm stiff and sore but feel more like I'm recovering from nasty flu than major surgery.

Fingers crossed this is the worst of it!

More Info

After years of heavy, uncontrollable menstrual bleeding, sometimes heavy enough to require hospitalization and even blood transfusions due to the amount of blood loss, the time has finally come for me to receive my long-awaited hysterectomy!

This is a time of great celebration!  No more heavy flow!  No more weekly purchases of maxi pads!  No more iron transfusions, no more debilitating cramps, no more crippling fatigue (hopefully).  Unfortunately, now that the time has come to receive my surgery, I find myself in the unenviable position of having to come up with the funds for the surgery, as well as covering the loss of income from being out of work for the lengthy recovery period.  It's a sad sign of the times that I am more worried about the missed work than I am about the major surgery, but there it is.

If you could find it in your heart to make a contribution towards my surgery, or towards paying for the utilities and bills following the surgery, I would be forever grateful!  And I know all of my fur children would be thrilled to be able to continue to eat, even when their mommy isn't able to work!
