Shea’s emergency medical fund

Shea’s emergency medical fund

From Jessie Fisher

Sheayla was hospitalized for 15 days. The hospital gave him a toxic amount of vancomycin and it shut down his kidneys. He’s home now but has no insurance for the 15 prescriptions he needs and follow up appointments.

Sheayla went into the emergency room on July 25 for an abscess that we knew was infected. He was admitted and had to wait two days for surgery to be performed and in the meantime was given back to back Vanco myosin IV antibiotics. He had his surgery and two days later had to have a revision surgery because it was not done correctly all this time while still on the vancomycin antibiotics. Sheayla spent 24 hours in the ICU when his health declined rapidly. We discovered that he had Vanco myosin toxicity and his kidneys were shutting down. She was released 15 days after entering the hospital and given 15 prescriptions and at least five immediate follow up appointments and bloodwork. he was employed before he was admitted to the hospital and of course can’t go back to work yet. He was three days away from his 90 day at his job to qualify for insurance. I am currently unemployed still from a surgery that I had anything will help with these costs, and we would greatly appreciate it .
