Hello, Thank you for visiting this page and considering an ongoing donation of any size. Your donations will help provide funds for instruments/instrument maintenance, gas for traveling to various volunteer sites, vehicle maintenance, ongoing professional development workshops in the area of music and memory care and finally to give me just a bit of needed financial breathing room for rent and utilities while I do this work free of charge for those who need it. I can work full time at a minimum wage job and have little or no mental, emotional, physical energy left to do this work for which I have the skill set and temperament or I can do this work with the help of many friends and supporters for the price of a fast food meal.

At 62 years of age, my greatest desire is to give back directly to my community, to the world by full time volunteering my time and talents as a music educator and musician. It is there I find my greatest satisfaction and fulfillment and find that I can do my greatest good.  I don’t consider myself “retired” in the truest sense of the world and feel I have much to give still, specifically in the area of music. I wish to continue volunteering with music and memory programs for those dealing with Alzheimer’s/various dementias. In addition I plan to volunteer with bedside music for those in pain and/or transitioning.

I hold a Masters Degree in Music and Arts Technology from Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis as well as a Bachelor of General Studies from IU with a focus on Music, Folklore and Social Sciences. I have accumulated many years of volunteering in these needed areas in my spare time during the time I was teaching full time at Culver Academies, in Culver, Indiana.

In order to volunteer full time and to help provide a sustainable income for me to meet my living expenses  I rely on ongoing financial support from folks with compassionate hearts who care a lot but don’t have a lot of time.

If 100 of my social media contacts donated 10.00 each month, this would make my vision possible.  Or if 200 of my contacts made an automatic donation of 5.00 a month and so forth- if 1000 folks gave 1 dollar every month...it is possible. It’s a way for you to give back by supporting a volunteer who has the desire, skills and passion to volunteer full time, but not quite enough for living expenses with my current budget.

In this mutually helpful relationship, you would receive monthly updates with descriptions of the situations and folks you are helping at assisted living facilities and senior day centers as well as updates on my work as a bedside medical musician. Look for the announcement of a blog dedicated to this work soon!

If you are working full time or perhaps have other challenges that limit your own ability to volunteer as much as you’d like and/or want to do more for your community, please consider another way of giving back by supporting someone who is in a position and has the passion  to volunteer full time.

If you have witnessed the power of music in your life or in that of a loved one dealing with Alzheimer’s/Dementias/TBI this is a way to pay that forward.

Please consider making a small recurring donation. Thank you!
