The Shannondale Mahogany Swim Club needs your help!

PLEASE HELP OUR POOL! 

This year has been hard for so many and the 'Dale is no exception.   The Board of Directors is doing everything they can to safely open the pool for our community this summer, while being financially responsible.  

• Due to COVID, there are numerous additional expenses to account for in 2021.

• Unfortunately, many of our regular expenses do not disappear with limited pool access unless the pool is closed (with no staff).  It doesn't matter if there are 25 people allowed on deck or 100, if we are open, our expenses are more or less the same. 

• Given the current and projected status of COVID at this time, we are anticipating a lower than normal membership this year.  Since we normally operate on a break even basis, any reduction in income will reduce our emergency fund and if membership is low enough, we will either not be able to open, or will exhaust all reserve funds leaving nothing for future years.

Given these financial realities, if we are able to open this year, we will need to increase our annual dues to offset our additional expenses, reduced membership numbers, and to build back up our emergency fund.  (Fun Fact: our membership dues have not increased since 2007!!!)

Raising dues is a LOT to ask of our members.  We would like to raise funds from members, guests, and fans of the pool, past and present, in order to offset the cost of this necessary dues increase as much as possible.
