From Shandi Matambanadzo

My son and I are launching our small business. We hope to raise money specifically to get labels printed, more ingredients, jars, equipment, etc., to be able to make more batches, and handle various business costs.

I started making my version of shea butter around 2010 for me and my 2 boys. I gave it to friends and they suggested I start selling it. I would set up a tent at festivals and fairs on weekends and really got into it.

However, I had to stop for a few years as the pressure of raising my teens, working a full-time job, and making/selling the shea got to be a bit too much. Now my kids are grown up and my youngest son is very enthusiatic to get it restarted and contribute to the business.

We hope to pay to get labels made, more ingredients to make more batches and new formulations, more jars to be able to ship and sell in different quantities, social media campaigns, business costs involved in pitching to stores.

I'm really proud of this product. We use shea butter, mafura oil/butter and baobab oil (which are not always easy to come by) and these 2 ingredients really help to give the shea butter a more deeply moisturizing feel that really lasts throughout the day to help skin feel softer.
