And another journy begins...
Hello family and friends, Hannah here! I hope all is well and you’re enjoying this beautiful new year and that this letter finds you and your family in good health and abundant happiness.
This is a big year for me, not only will I be graduating high school but I will also be starting a new chapter of my life in Phoenix, Arizona, at Grand Canyon University where I will be majoring In psychology in hopes of one day getting a masters in Christian counseling.
As many of you may know, last summer I was given the extraordinary opportunity to travel to Senegal, Africa to spread The Gospel to the people in the Serer (sir-air) villages. I fell in love with the country; I got to meet many Senegalese people who instantly wove their way into my heart. Since the moment I left, I haven’t stopped thinking of the people there, because, although they were some of the most kind and loving people I have ever met, they were also very broken. I was able to see first-hand the amazing workings of Jesus Christ and fell in love with the mission field.
Not too long ago, I got word from the missionary family Mission Hills Church partnered with last summer (the Paschall’s) that they were inviting me into their home and lives to live with them for three weeks this summer. As you could probably guess, I nearly fell out of my seat due to the overwhelming joy and excitement I felt.
While there, I will be trained in kids ministry, helping the Paschall’s live life in Africa, as well as ministering to the ‘missionary kids’ who live there, run children’s camps, ministering to talibe boys (young boys who parents have given them to the Islamic church). Along with all of this, I will be able to witness and learn just what it takes to be an overseas missionary, seeing as I hope to be one in the future.
This journey will be far from simple—in fact, it is impossible to do on my own. Last year, I was overwhelmingly surprised by the support I received from my wonderful family and friends. Your prayers lifted me up and your financial contributions made the trip possible. I am here today to ask a similar favor of you. There is nothing more powerful than prayer, it makes the impossible possible and gives you the power to complete Gods will; If you will, please be praying for finances, safety, smooth sailing, and the ability to organize everything wile under the time crunch of under two months until departure. Also, if you feel a tug on your heart, financial contributions would be much appreciated. This journey will cost over $3,000, and I have a little over a month to raise that money; the only way to make this trip possible is to have my loving friends and family alongside me. If you are interested in donating, please contact me on facebook or donate online via this fundly page.
I thank all of you for your time and support then, now, and tomorrow; serving an indescribable God will lead you to live an indescribable life.
