Update #4

We've received word that the 2020 Innocence Network Conference has been cancelled due to the coronavirus situation. The announcement was a terrible disappointment to the Allison Family, and we will be contacting all of you who have so graciously contributed to our goal. Thank you so much for your support. We'll be praying that Clayton can still have the opportunity to go next year.

Clayton Allison Can Attend As An Exoneree!

On February 13, 2015, Clayton Allison was wrongfully convicted due to a junk science accusation after the death of his only child. Four years later, on the same day, his case was finally heard in the Alaska Court of Appeals. Then, on September 4, 2019, he returned home to his family after 4.5 grueling years of wrongful incarceration. Returning to his family presents its own challenges, but Clayton is excited about beginning his life again.

Attending the Innocence Network Conference will allow Clayton to meet other exonerees from across the U.S. and around the world. He'll be able to connect with others who know exactly what it's like to go through this type of wrongful conviction experience, and who can give valuable insight into the reentry process in communities that provide no support and programs to the citizens they have wronged.

Clayton's wife attended her first conference in 2019 before the family even imagined that his case could turn around so quickly. For her, attending felt like coming home to a new family of people that really understood her and everything she was fighting for. She still remembers one of the exonerees telling her, "You just remember... We believe in you. We're rooting for you, and we can't wait to meet him and welcome him to the family."

This year, by the grace of God, Clayton has the opportunity to meet that family! He'll be traveling and attending the conference with his wife as his support person on this amazing adventure. And you can help us get there!

Estimated Costs

  • Flights   $1,000
  • Hotel  $850
  • Rental Car & Parking $200
  • Meals  $300
  • Support Person Conference Registration $150

TOTAL  $2,500

**If anyone is interested in donating airline miles, tickets, gift cards for food, or other support in Chicago, please contact the family or email [email protected].

We cannot thank you enough for your support!

We're excited to announce that Clayton has received official permission from the Alaska court to attend the Innocence Network Conference in Chicago! This means he can begin booking travel as soon as funds have been arranged. Spreading the word is more important now than ever, as an official itinerary must be submitted to the court by March 2nd.
