This year I've been volunteering at Samaritan House. Although many places in the world need help, I wanted to meet & share time with people in my immediate community. I believe everyone deserves food, shelter, & safety.
Part of becoming a bar mitzvah is taking on adult responsibilities, such as contributing time, effort, and money to a cause you believe in that helps make the world a better place. I'm choosing to support Samaritan House because it provides for people in my community that need help. I've been extremely lucky in my life to never experience hunger or lack of shelter. I've always had clean clothes, shoes, and school supplies. This is not true for everyone in my town. During my time volunteering I've met good, kind people who work hard every day, but don't make enough money to feed their families. I believe that no matter what your circumstances are, everyone should have food, shelter, and basic necessities. Thank you for considering donating to Samaritan House and helping me reach my goal of $1,000 by donating what you can.
