Scout the Therapy Pup Training and Certification

Scout the Therapy Pup Training and Certification

From Staci Gann

Many of my clients have grown to love Scout, but in order to allow him in the office as a therapy pup he must complete some intensive training! Funds will be used so Scout can be an effective, snuggly therapeutic tool!

More Info

I rescued Scout from an agency in KC when he turned 8 weeks old. He was being fostered by a wonderful family and he immediately fit in with my life and the people around me. When I adopted Scout I was completing my MA of Counseling program and thought a therapy pup would be an incredible addition to my office. Scout finished out my internship with me and so many clients grew to love him and his snuggles! After graduation and licensure, Scout was not allowed to return to the office with me due to the agency's pet policy unless he receives a certain level of training. The training Scout must complete is intensive and 36 weeks long with one on one trainings, group trainings, and specialized therapeutic trainings. He will also receive his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and will be licensed as a therapy dog at the end of his training. His training will be completed with the Manhattan Mutt Company, a local group with a wonderful reputation for training service animals.

All donations will be used to pay for Scout's specialized training, care and preventative medicine to keep him healthy and hard at work.
