Saving the Husky dog Nico

I saw that he had been terribly injured. At first we thought he had a run in with another animal but upon looking at his injuries it became clear that he had major wounds and appeared to have been beaten a lot of times. He was immediately rushed to the vet.The vet informed us that Nico suffered a major puncture through the organs of his belly area and right leg. This caused significant soft tissue trauma with the possibility of the skin losing blood supply. Due to this, there is a high possibility of another necessary surgery. There were also two puncture wounds into the left shoulder and one puncture wound on his back. The vet advised that all puncture wounds have an L-shape to them. There was also a small bleeding puncture wound on the left toe and a slab fracture in the mouth.The vet said these wounds were very strange and were most likely caused by a person. Who would do this? This cruel behavior is unacceptable! We have been in contact with the police but they said there is not much we can do. So we are focused on his recovery and care.He will need a follow up in 3 days, 7 days, and 14 days. Additional surgery is very likely and we are worried about the upcoming costs.
