More Info

Scooby is a 2 year old family dog who lives with two children that love him very much. He was found as a puppy with a broken back leg and taken to the shelter where I met and fostered him while he recovered after having the leg amputated. Eventually I adopted him and he has become a big part of my family. Since his amputation he has learned to run and play like normal.

On the 10th Scooby took off and got hit by a car. I rushed him to GLVC where he was looked over. Radiographs revealed three broken bones in his front paw. Although he has other injuries this is causing the most problems. Amputation is out of the question due to him already missing a leg. We had hopes of him having surgery 1/12 however when the surgeon seen his paw I was informed that surgery is not possible at this time. He will need 2-3 weeks of wound care and antibiotics before he can perform the surgery to rebuild the bones.

This is where I will need help. I was originally able to gather the money needed through loans to pay for his care. Unfortunately with this setback his care is going to be more expensive then I can afford. Wound care is costly. So far I have a bill over $3000 for his hospitalization after he was hit. I paid $1400 at the surgeon for the care they gave him. Surgery estimate will be around $5000 when the time comes.

Anything you are able to give will be appreciated by both me and my children who love him and don't want to lose him.
