Jinx is a 2 year old girl who somehow found herself in a small rural shelter, sick and pregnant and in desperate need of help. She is almost out of time and options, and we want to help her and her unborn puppies!
Jinx is currently at the Granville County Animal Shelter, about 3 hours away from our rescue. After seeing her photos come across the screen several times and the urgent pleas to help her, we knew we had to do something. The shelter's local rescues are full, and due to her condition she is not adoptable to the public. We read the descriptions about how frightened, sad and sweet she is. We have a loving foster home ready and willing to take her in, but we need help so we can help her. Our medical funds are depleted right now, so we are appealing to our supporters and animal lovers to help Jinx and her unborn puppies.
Jinx is heartworm positive and also positive for Ehrlichiosis- a tick-borne disease that can be deadly for dogs. She will need immediate medical care to analyze her condition further and get her on the medications she needs to start treating this disease. After her puppies are born and weaned, she will also need to start treatment for her heartworm disease. All of this veterinary care is very expensive and will likely go above our $1,300 fundraising goal. Her puppies, once born, will need the full spectrum of care including vaccines, dewormings, flea and heartworm prevention, spays and neuters- Again all very costly but necessary for their health.
If you can spare any amount to help Jinx and her unborn puppies, it would be greatly appreciated. Check back for updates and please share this campaign to help Jinx!
