Update #2

Orbit has had the first part of his surgery to graft together his split palate. The vet we found is willing to give us time to pay it out, but requires substantial payments when we can to show good intention. He still has a lot ahead of him and he needs all the help he can get! Please donate what and if you can, and please share his fundraiser!!

More Info

On April 1st, 2018 my little Orbit was hit by a speeding car. One of the neighborhood kids had been calling to him to have him cross the street, and was walking out into the street herself. A car came speeding down the road and luckily missed the little girl.  Orbit wasn't as lucky. He jumped to get out of the way,  but tyre car was just going too fast. He hit the bumper face first. He immediately went berserk and ran to hide. The police were called,  but in the moment, no one was able to get a licence plate number. I, a friend of mine, and a couple neighbors began searching for him,  expecting the worst.  After a couple hours, he was finally located under some bushes. His head was swollen to twice it's size,  his eyes were bulging, and he was covered in blood. As my friend and I tried to get him,  he panicked and ran.  He hid under a neighbors house,  and by the time we were able to get under the house,  he'd run again. The next day,  he showed up on my porch,  but ran just before I could get him in the carrier. I feared the worst,  and prepared myself. It took 2 full days to finally catch him as take him to a vet.

The vet, having been told I couldn't pay up front gave me 2 options. Either put him down right then, or take him home with pain meds and "see how it goes". Orbit has survived and I wasn't about to stop fighting for him even if the vet was.  I finally found a vet in a town just over an hour away that would help. Orbit was admitted right after his exam on Saturday  and had surgery the next  Monday.  He had to have pins set in his upper jaw because it was completely split in two, and they did the first part of a palate grafting surgery. He's been recovering fairly well,  but he still has surgeries in his future to finish closing up the hole in the roof of his mouth. I feed him baby food with a dropper every 2-4 hours, and he's taken to it fairly well.   He has lost most if not all use of his left eye, he has a snaggle tooth, and he sneezes food every time he eats,  but he is still so full of life and love.

I've had to cut out a lot of things in my already strapped budget to feed him and care for him,  but he's worth it. He's a sweet precious kitty who just turned a year old.  I don't like asking for help,  but I have to for him.  Please,  donate if you can,  and share if you can.  Help me save him like he saved me.

Update #1

Orbit has shown some improvement with drinking water as the swelling has gone down quite a bit. He is still unable to eat on his own, and we may need to take him in to get s feeding tube if the money is available. We still have a long way to go before we can, however. Pease continue sharing little Orbit's link, he needs all the help he can get.
Thank you so much!
