Dear brothers and sisters,
My name is Gabi Satola and I am currently a student at John Brown University. I have two older sisters as well as two brother-in-laws and a little brother, who still lives at home with my parents. Recently my family has learned that my mom has been diagnosed with stage 3 Breast Cancer. As you can imagine, this came as a complete shock and is something that no one can ever be prepared for emotionally or financially. As of now, she has two more chemo treatments in this last cycle of chemotherapy and then major surgery to remove the tumors, as well as six weeks of radiation. We know that God has had a hand in this every step of the way, and have already seen his faithfulness and healing at work. We serve a Great and Mighty God who provides! The Lord has blessed me with a great friend and has given her a heart to help and serve His people. Catie Larimer has decided that for the duration of her winter quarter at Seattle Pacific University, she would provide the opportunity for people to support and donate towards my mom's cancer treatments. The campaign is called "Save it or Shave it." If you feel lead to donate (any amount is greatly appreciated), you can choose to donate to "save it" or to "shave it" on the website, saying whether Catie should shave her head and donate her hair, or keep her lovely locks. The goal has been set at $5,000. Either way you vote, the funds will go completely towards my mom's cancer treatments. But whichever side raises the most funds will be the decider of the fate of Catie's hair. If you don't feel lead to donate, I would humbly ask that you continue to pray for my mom and my family, as well as share this website with as many people as you can! I think Catie would look great bald :)
Again, thank you so much for your prayers and support, and I pray that Lord blesses you as much as He has already blessed my family.
In Christ,
Gabi Satola
Barbie Satola is from Spokane, and has been a faithful servant of God and our country. She is the mother of my good friend, Gabi, and when I heard she had been recently diagnosed with stage two breast cancer, I knew there was something I could do to help. I decided that for the duration of my winter quarter at Seattle Pacific University, I would provide the opportunity for people to donate toward her treatments, but in a fun way! When you donate (any amount is accepted and greatly appreciated) and comment "Shave it" in the provided comment box, you are basically voting that I will shave my head at the end of the fundraiser (On March 12th, also my birthday). If you comment "Save it," you are voting that I will keep my lovely locks. Either way, the funds go toward Barbie's cancer treatments, but whichever side raises the most funds will be the decider of my hair's fate. After my quarter ends, during my spring break, I will make a trip to Spokane to present Mrs. Satola with her check in person. On behalf of myself and the Satola family, thank you for interest, prayers, and donations.
NOTE: Please share this page with your church and your friends. You can choose to donate anonymously or leave your name. If you choose to leave your name, please also private message us your address so that we may send you a letter of gratitude after the fundraiser.

"Finally finished the first cycle of chemo and started the second cycle last Friday. The best news for me is this cycle doesn't require the stomach shots…after 32 shots I pray I never have to do that again!
Only 3 more chemo rounds to go. I appreciate the prayers and support from friends and family so much. It has made all the difference in the world."
